SuiteCommerce Advanced Payments: The Way to Go

Choosing the right payment methods for your eCommerce business isn’t a minor detail. As it’s known, many buyers abandon their cart at checkout due to different factors: shipping costs or delays, the need to create an account, or the lack of certain payment options.

When it comes to SuiteCommerce, NetSuite’s own eCommerce platform, there are certain payment gateways that are natively offered, such as credit card, invoice, or PayPal.

We’ve already talked about some of the best payment gateways for SuiteCommerce businesses, like PayPal, Amazon Pay, or Stripe. However, there’s no direct, native connection to some of them, which is why Tavano Team’s NetSuite experts came up with a solution: SuiteCommerce Advanced
(SCA) Payments.

SuiteCommerce Advanced Payments

Created by our NetSuite experts for NetSuite users, SCA Payments is a scalable solution that allows you to connect your SuiteCommerce Advanced website and NetSuite ERP platform directly to Amazon Pay, Affirm, or Stripe through a custom-made middleware application. Additionally, it is fully compatible with other payment integrations such as Braintree, meaning you can have multiple integrations in place without issues.

This is how the solution improves the checkout process from both shopper and merchant perspective:

Shopper Checkout Flow

  1. Start Checkout
    – Shoppers proceed with their normal shopping experience, reviewing the cart and shipping details
    – When they are ready to pay, they move to our checkout payment process
    – Both native and third-party payment methods (SCA Payment ones and others) are displayed in a fresh UI.
  2. Select Payment Method (Amazon Pay, Affirm or Stripe)
    – Once they pick their payment method, they get redirected to the chosen platform to securely complete their payment.
  3. Complete Payment
    – Once payment is successful, they’re automatically redirected back to the store, so they don’t have to do anything extra.
  1. Receive Confirmation
    – After placing the order, the shopper gets the order confirmation as usual.

Merchant Payment Processing Flow

  1. Order Creation in NetSuite
    – Each order stores a secure payment session token generated in the storefront
    – Payment is authorized automatically in the external platform when the order is created in NetSuite
  2. Payment Capture
    – The payment deposit is created in NetSuite to keep the accounting up-to-date
  3. Payment Management
    – Cancel payment support
    – Process both partial and total refunds
  4. Transaction tracking
All payment details are saved and visible in the order.

SCA Payments Integrations

Affirm

Affirm is a leading “buy now, pay later” (BNPL) solution that allows customers to split their purchases into interest-free or low-interest installment payments. This allows flexible financing options for clients, helping businesses increase conversion rates and boost average order values.

Stripe

Stripe supports a wide range of payment methods, including credit cards, digital wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, and even cryptocurrency. It also supports over 135 currencies which makes it a top-notch option for international companies.

Amazon Pay

Amazon Pay leverages Amazon’s trust and user base to provide a seamless payment experience. Users can use their existing Amazon credentials to log in and pay, having their address and payment information automatically filled in from their Amazon accounts, which provides efficiency, and convenience.

Each of these options has its advantages and benefits for users. Our SCA payments solution allows businesses to offer multiple payment options easily, improving conversion rates and boosting sales.
